Bullying

The CPSU UTS Branch has been engaged in a campaign to provide a positive way forward against the spate of bullying and harassment reported at UTS. So far:

·         Confidential Survey sent to all UTS Support Staff,

·         Collation of the results by an OH&S professional,

·         A Forum held to go through the results & plot the next steps forward.

·         The Survey highlighted the following problems:

·         A STAGGERING 72% of all staff surveyed have experienced bullying and 62% have witnessed bullying occur.

·         Workers in their 20’s-40’s have experienced the worst of it with 50-60% of staff surveyed in this age group saying that in their experience more than one person is being bullied.

·         Direct & higher managers were reported consistently across gender and age as a major source of bullying.
