Australian Workplace Agreements

Collective action is the key to good agreements, and collective agreements by their nature involve collective action. The push for AWAs is motivated by the desire to remove collective action and outcomes from the equation, in recognition that an individual has less power than a large group of workers.

This is why the CPSU believes collective agreements offer workers better opportunity to influence their employment conditions, but the union also recognises that AWAs are a part of the current bargaining system.

Therefore we are committed to offering our expertise and experience to help staff get the best outcome possible from their AWAs.

CPSU Members at UTS are encouraged to sign a
